Without compromising overall customer experiences at the check in counters, there was a key area that needed improvement. Customers are now very much more aware of self-service automations, so it was decided that Tricubes would be entrusted to deliver a self-service check in kiosk in order to reduce its operating costs and enhanced customers’ satisfaction.

The Challenge

Tricubes M2E was used as middleware to integrate with SITA iTravel cloud API to request and update reservation and check-in data from Airline DCS.

3. Incredible Kiosk Design – With allowance future enhancements, the modular kiosk has a steel construction, powder coat finishing and customizable mounting brackets that ensure the kiosks are tough and rust free.

Case 2 – Electricity Company
The Client

Malaysia’s largest electricity company, responsible for the generation and distribution of electricity throughout Malaysia, needed assistance with their billing system. The company employs thousands upon thousands of personnel to read electricity meters and provide monthly bills to residences nationwide. Their personnel required a mobile device that would be able to seamlessly interface with its host’s billing system. They are also required to print bills that can withstand any weather conditions.

The Challenge

Implementing the occasional tariff changes within a short roll out period may result in miscalculations on the bills presented. These changes in tariff would require software changes across all devices and docking stations, which is interfaced with the host. The client required an effective system that would minimize effort and ensure the accuracy of the bill to prevent any potential financial loss. Another challenge was locating customer premises, especially ones in remote areas. The meter readers have a difficult
time when addresses are not clear and this can be very time consuming.

1. Mobile Computers and Printers for Bill Issuance – Global Positioning Systems (GPS) paired with a portable computer and printing device issued to the meter readers significantly improve efficiency. The client saw an increase in the number of bills presented per day. Meter reading data was uploaded automatically to the billing system and immediately available for review. Moreover, all data can be consolidated to create daily and monthly reports, which provided the management with detailed billing analytics.

2. Backend Route Management System – The built-in GPS was used to record residential meter locations. The software navigation capability of the computing device assisted meter readers in finding the meter locations faster and with pinpoint accuracy.

3. Interfaced to SAP Systems – Tricubes M2E was used as middleware to integrate SAP using a FTP adapter or SAP .NET Connector or Netweaver Process Integration binding. M2E interfaces to SAP to retrieve billing components and meter data and then updates the meter reading information from the portable computing devices.
